DescriptionHistorical account and archaeological analysis of the age of the Oldoway [Olduvai Gorge] human skeleton discovered by Hans Reck (1886-1937) in 1913. Wayland's paper is supported by a 'Report on microscopic and chemical examination of the Oldoway deposits', by William C Simmons and three sectional blueprints of the Oldoway beds by Wayland with a sheet of corrections and additions.
Physical descriptionContained in an original file cover marked 'Confidential' and inscribed 'Send to the Royal Society (destroy if already lodged by Wayland)'.
