Description | In the course of experiments on diamagnetism, he has difficulty in finding a perfectly elastic thread. Having read Boys's paper on the properties of quartz fibres, he asks if Boys could send some. The fibre would have to bear 6 grammes and should be at least 40 centimetes in length. |
