DescriptionRiddell informs Lloyd that he has asked [Edward] Sabine to send Lloyd the revised instructions for the portable apparatus. The aim of these instructions has been to give detailed instructions for officers and other practical observes who do not know anything of the subject. Riddell mentions the King of Prussia has been at Lüneburg. Description of the tenth German Confederation, and the number of people from different principalities, as well as troops, and the parade.

Riddell informs Lloyd of his travel plans. Riddell leaves for [Braunschweig] Brunswick tomorrow on his way to Berlin, where he will stay for a week, possibility of travelling to Dresden, and Göttingen. This is Riddell’s first visit to Germany and he describes his experience so far.
