TitleLetter from William Buckland to Charles Stokes, Broad Street, London
Date9 September 1828
DescriptionBuckland has just has a reply from Dr [William Jackson] Hooker saying that there is no copy of Sternberg in Glasgow, and so he cannot view plate 30. Buckland must therefore give up his notion of an extra plate and asks that his text be altered to refer to Sternberg's plate instead of his own proposed plate 50. The conjecture should be retained that Conites Bucklandii, which Sternberg does not admit into the conifers, belongs with Buckland's cycadeoidea.
