TitleLetter from Henry Beaufoy, South Lambeth to James Clark Ross
Date17 September 1839
DescriptionBeaufoy informs Ross that he is more than happy to offer the magnetic instruments if they will be helpful to Ross on his ‘voyage of discovery’, however Beaufoy is concerned that Ross may be supplied with instruments of the latest construction, therefore Beaufoy’s instruments may seem antiquated and inapplicable to Ross’s investigations. Discussion on magnetic changes in variations. Beaufoy wishes Ross a prosperous and fruitful journey, and is certain on his return Ross will be showered with honours well deserved.
