TitleLetter from William Radcliffe Birt, [Kew] Observatory, Old Deer Park, Richmond, Surrey to [Robert] Hunt
Date14 November 1849
DescriptionBirt is sending Hunt, Professor [John] Phillips note, and remarks on being granted authority independent of Mr [Francis] Ronalds. On receiving Phillips note Birt gave it to Mr Ronalds who remarked that Hunt could not be given his desired instruments, and expressed his surprise that Hunt had not written to him in regarding this. Birt suggests if he was given the appropriate authority then Phillips instructions would already be carried out as well as the instruments at Hunt disposal.
