DescriptionReference to Sabine’s efforts to influence the India Board to supply Chambers with the new instruments for the [Colaba Observatory]. Chambers describes his plans and alterations to house the new instruments, as well as a room for the photographic operations. Chambers hopes they will be able to continue hourly observations while the alterations are taking place. Description of the placement of the existing instruments within the observatory. Chambers has requested from Mr [Balfour] Stewart the provisional plans for the observatory in Mauritius. Reference to repairs of the transit instrument. Discussion on meteorological observations.
