| Description | The British Association has sent Abbadie an invitation to assist at the Aberdeen meeting, however Abbadie regrets to inform that he will not be able to attend. Sabine’s recent letter and the Athenaeum named Abbadie as the corresponding member of the British Association but has not yet received any formal news of nomination. However Abbadie has adopted the title of corresponding member as used in the title of his paper ‘Sur Le Tonnerre En Ethiopie’, and asks Sabine to present this paper on his behalf to the British Association. Abbadie is sending Sabine his various papers as a small testimony for Sabine’s unwavering support when the Royal Geographical Society and others refused Abbadie justice.
Abbadie wishes Mrs [Elizabeth Juliana Leeves] Sabine a pleasant time in Scotland, and informs Sabine he will be residing near Behobie for two months. Abbadie has been in contact with Arrowsmith regarding the publication of his map of Ethiopia. |
