Bache accepts Sabine’s offer of instruments for the western coast and asks Sabine to not be set ‘down as one of the class of “sturdy beggars”’. Refers to [British Association] proceedings. Bache explains the circumstances and understanding in which he has requested instruments from Sabine. Bache expresses gratitude at being elected to The Royal Society. Bache intends to travel to [New York] tomorrow to see of the expedition to Labrador.
