DescriptionElliot informs Sabine he was unable to write to him due to an illness. Elliot describes his return to [Jakarta, colonial name Batavia] and developed a cough but continued to make dip and intensity observations. Elliot received magnetic instruments in July. Elliot was granted funds from the government in regards with the dip circle. Refers to the Dutch authorities. Reference to the temperature and the changes of force and changes to the magnet.
