Description‘Observations of the magnetic variation, dip and intensity made from hour to hour’ on 5th and 6th November, and 21st and 22nd December, made at the request of Mr [Alexander von] Humboldt and proposed by Professor [Adolph Theodor] Kupffer. Description of the apparatus used to make observations. Discussion regarding the arcs of vibration for the intensity. Refers to the aurora borealis at the beginning of November. Table of observations include date, hour, variation, time of oscillation, temperature in needle box and weather. Includes two notes of observations of the aurora borealis on 25th December 1830 and 7th January 1831.
