DescriptionRegarding Professor Moritz letter received by Galton. Discussion regarding Moritz scheme [of magnetical observations]. Professor [Adolph Theodor] Kupffer has approved of the scheme and the resolution of the British Association. Discussion regarding funds to carry out the scheme which will be provided by the Russian government. Informs Sabine of Moritz’s wishes to procure a self-registering apparatus and discusses his intended use for them. Galton discusses the points Moritz does not state regarding the portable instruments, the tabulation of photograms, the reduction of observations, and application to theoretical conclusions. Refers to the final paragraph of Moritz letter in which he discusses his version of events at the ‘Bath meeting’.
