DescriptionAcknowledges Sabine’s letter of the 15th regarding ‘the weight and size of the third volume of the Toronto magnetic observations, copies of which’ Sabine would like to send to ‘several Governors’ of the [British] colonies. Hawes has been directed by Lord Panmure [Fox Maule-Ramsay] to ask Sabine to properly package and send the volumes which will be distributed to the colonies listed in the letter. If Sabine wishes to transmit the volumes to any other colonies he ‘should apply to the Colonial Office’.
