Henry expresses his interest in science more ‘in line of’ Dr [Michael] Faraday, than [Edward] Sabine and Ross, but is ‘anxious’ to do what he can for its advancement. Any observations made regarding terrestrial magnetism Henry will forward to his ‘friend’ [Alexander Dallas] Bache.
