DescriptionJacob expresses regret to learn Robinson’s proposal to the British Association to send a large reflector to the Cape of Good Hope to observe the southern nebula is not ‘likely’ to go ahead as it will be seen to ‘interfere’ with meridional observations. Jacob’s puts in a ‘claim’ for a large reflector on behalf of India. Describes the advantages of having such an instrument in India including the optimal atmosphere and suggests different cities.
