Title | Letter from Charles Robert Darwin, Down, Farnborough Kent to Edward Sabine |
Date | 28 June [1809-1882] |
Description | Darwin is honoured to be asked to act as president to the natural history section of the British Association, however ‘fatigue or excitement, or anxiety’ causes nausea and other symptoms that sitting in a public chair is ‘intolerable’ to him. Darwin politely declines this honour and asks Sabine to make any excuse on his behalf. |
