TitleLetter from Hermann Kindt, Yarm to [Edward Sabine]
Date23 September 1863
DescriptionRegarding the possibility of a translation being published by the Geographical Society relating to [Eduard Vogel’s memoir and letters]. Kindt has received Mr Addington’s reply regarding this matter and is hopeful of a favourable answer from Sir Roderick [Murchison]. If the Geographical Society determine [Elise Vogel Polko’s] memoir of her brother Vogel is not of a ‘sufficient size’, Kindt recommends increasing the contents by letters written by Vogel to people other than his family. Therefore, Kindt would find Sabine’s letter most useful, and as well intending to write to Professor [Johann Franz Encke] and Professor [Carl] Ritter, ‘kindest friends’ of Vogel’s. Kindt would welcome Sabine’s opinion regarding his intentions.
