DescriptionMcClintock refers an announcement in the United Service Gazette of Lieutenant Pullen’s promotion ‘for his boat expedition from Point Barrow to the Mackenzie River’. McClintock discusses the comparisons the editor of the Gazette makes with Pullen’s claims and his own, and the criticises Sir Francis Baring for not awarding McClintock. Remarks on the similarities between his and Pullen’s service. Addresses the question of his promotion and the ‘difficulty’ existing in Lieutenant Robinson being senior to McClintock.
