DescriptionMiller sends Sabine the ‘totals of rain for 1847, in the Lake District’ [see MS/257/3/129]. Miller remarks the year 1847 as a ‘dry one’. Refers to rain fall in the country in 1847. Miller has been busy since the new year which has prevented his towards his ‘annual [meteorological] report’. Refers to his preparation of tables for a presentation to The Royal Society. Description of obtaining ‘a series of accurate’ and ‘valuable records of the meteorology’ of Lake District, referring to the temperature and mountain gauge. Refers to [James] Glaisher’s report on radiation.
