Includes a table of places, rain in inches, and wet days, as well as a table of mountain gauges with [rain] in inches. Includes discussion the increase in percentage of rain compared with summer and winter months.

Notes the rain on Sca Fell during winter 1847 to 1848 ‘was lost, in consequence of injury by the receiver’.
