DescriptionRennie informs Sabine, ‘the late Mr Bates foreman’ purchased the balance made and used by the Royal Society ‘at the sale of Mr Bates effects’. The foreman would like to sell the equipment. Rennie includes a small sketch of the balance and refers to the price and difficulties of ‘where to put it’.
