DescriptionLowe recalls a conversation with Admiral [Robert] FitzRoy ‘regarding a central land station’ in the centre of England, and describes his suggestion of a station near Nottingham, being a ‘desirable position’. Lowe offers to provide a piece of land, meteorological instruments and any amount of time for such a station in the centre of England. Lowe expresses his willingness to devote time for the advancement of science. Remarks on succeeding his father’s estates.
