Smallwood has now put his requests of a chronometer and transit instruments to the House of Assembly. Description of a transit instrument Smallwood would like Sabine’s help in procuring. Update on the use of instruments and observations obtained by Smallwood. Includes the mean of the dip observations. Refers to communication with [Alexander Dallas] Bache in order to take ‘simultaneous observations with him’.
