Description | Wartmann thanks Sabine for the volume of magnetic and meteorological observations from Toronto from 1843 to 1845. Reference to Mr John Welsh’s memoir in which he describes his meteorological observations. Wartmann notes Welsh obtained interesting results but not absolutely new. Wartmann expresses his regret that the Kew Observatory Committee did not include in the program actinometric and magnetic research. Refers to a Russian scientist who he saw in Paris and carried out various balloon experiments and discusses the magnetic needle. Discussion regarding artillery supplies. Remarks regarding the publication of a volume in French about electricity dated 1853. |
