Laing also writes that he has reached the source of the Rokelle River, and was near to the source of the Niger River. He will send Sabine all of his observations, though he says the chronometer caused him trouble. Laing talks about the possiblity of publishing his journal in order to help finance his next, more extensive trip to the interior. Laing speaks of his 'disinterested' motives for bringing about the civilization of the interior, and is sending Sabine a saddle cover given to him by the King of the Soolimas. |
