Description | The account begins on the 9th of September, with the party on their way to Gadamis [present day Ghadames in Libya]. Once reaching the town, the author describes its buildings and infrastructure in detail, praising the mercantile ability of the residents. The climate in the region, the good manners of the residents of Gadamis, as well as the high rank of the women is discussed. The author also mentions what he observes about the treatment of slaves, and remarks upon some old ruins he encounters. The postscript contains coordinates and information about the chemical composition of the soil.
