DescriptionRecord book of the papers received by the Royal Society for publication in the periodicals of the Royal Society. The ledger was used to keep track of the circulation of manuscripts and the decision to publish taken by the sectional committees (sectional committee A for mathematical and physical science and B for biological sciences).

The ledger was custom printed for the Committee of Papers, beginning with an alphabetised index, where names of authors have been entered. The headings of the columns are printed with all information entered in ink.

For each manuscript is entered:
Number; title; author(s); communicator(s); date received; date read at meeting of the Committee of Papers; date refereed; name of referees; date manuscript returned by referees; date reported to sectional committee; date of Council vote; destination [journal published in or date returned]

The volume covers manuscripts received between June 1905 and December 1920, which corresponds to printed volumes 205 to 220 of Philosophical Transactions A for physical sciences and volumes 197 to 209 of Philosophical Transactions B for biological sciences; printed volumes 76 to 98 of Proceedings A and volumes 77 to 91 of Proceedings B
