Description | Hudson thanks Bidwell for previous services and requests that the 'Astronomische nachrichten' might be addressed under his cover to the Royal Society and to the Royal Astronomical Society. Hudson encloses a specimen for Bidwell. The journal is edited by Professor [Heinrich Christian] Schumacher and is known throughout Europe as the journal through which the most important astronomical dscoveries are communicated. Previously, deliveries have made only twice per year by steamer, meaning that interesting intelligence is delayed. Schumacher will send issues as they are published if they may be sent to Bidwell. He is acquainted with the Consul General, Mr Canning, but waits to hears Bidwell's wishes. Hudson offers to reciprocate such services to Bidwell or his friends. |
