TitleCopy letter from C R [Charles Richard] Weld, the Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society; to J F [John Fletcher] Miller
Date20 January 1852
DescriptionAs requested by Edward Sabine, concerning the Government Grant of £50 made to Miller last year, replies to the accusation that the grant was not asked for. Explains that in letter to Dr Thomas Bell last April, Miller alluded to a request for a £50 Grant. This was granted and a letter sent to inform of this decision and that a Committee set up to report on the appropriation of the money. The Committee consists of Mr Phillips, Prof Frobes and Dr Lloyd. Cannot account for Miller ignorance on the matter and states the cheque in his name is ready for his request for it. [See MS/426/451 and MS/426/456]
