DescriptionInforms that following Mr Westmacott's examination of Newton's [Death] Mask, advises against taking a mould from it. Therefore regrets to announce a copy cannot be made from the original mask. Attaches [Richard] Westmacott's Report [not enclosed] and states the metal cast referred to belongs to Mr Weld, who will be prepared to lend it so a copy can be made. [See MS/426/576]
