DescriptionAcknowledges letter from Mr Ball, the Under Secretary of the Admiralty on behalf of the Government. This concerns preparations for an exploration exhibition to the Western part of British America [Canada] under Mr [John] Palliser. This follows Mr Labouchere's request for assistance of the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, upon application from the Royal Society. In terms of the requested Chronometers, states Palliser will be unable to meet the pick up the instruments and will by taken by Lieut. [Thomas] Blakiston. [See MS/426/593]
