States it has the strong approval of Major [Edward] Sabine, Sir John Herchal, Prof. [George] Peacock, the Dean of Ely. The proposal also has the recommendation of the Physical Committee of the Royal Society. Lord Northampton [Spencer Joshua Alwyne Compton] states he is not in London but will have Sir John Lubbock and Major Sabine to visit and discuss the facilities, advantage of the current time and expenses.
