DescriptionRegrets to inform of an accident befalling the Newton Portrait due to lack of care from the artists commissioned to copy it. The Artist prompted it against to close to the door, so when somebody came through, it drew the portrait and caused damage to the canvas. The figure pf newton however was untouched. [See MS/426/610 and MS/426/626]
