DescriptionCopies of outgoing letters from the President's office, although mainly consists of letters from the Secretaries. Mainly consists of correspondence to the Treasury, to Messrs. Roberts, Lubbock & Co., regarding the installation of gas lighting, the Science and Art Department, the establishment of the Government Grant for the Advancement of Scientific Investigation, the publication of the 'Challenger' Reports and the Circumpolar Expedition. Includes a 3 page copy letter from Palmerston; to [Prince Augustus Frederick] the Duke of Sussex between pages 8 and 9. These are separately numbered to the rest of the book.
