DescriptionMeteorological observations extracted from the register kept at Scutari Cemetery, now Üsküdar, Istanbul, Turkey.

"A remarkably deep red colour of the sky, clouds and atmosphere, has been noticed at Sunrise, and Sunset, on the last three or four days of the month; giving to the Sea, Earth trees, buiuldings etc., a very peculiar ruddy, hazy, and weird-like appearences."

William Henry Lyne (1834-1914) was Custodian of Scutari Cemetery for fifty-four years.
