DescriptionDaily records of temperature, humidity, wind direction and rainfall, kept at the Civil Hospital, Muscat. Visual descriptions: 'marked white and red colouring', 'sky colouring', 'hot dry wind', 'cloudy'. Embossed with trhe stamp 'Government of Bombay'.

The manuscript bears a pencil inscription: 'Surgeon Major, Civil Surgeon, Muskat'. The naturalist and surgeon Atmaram Sadashiva Grandin Jayakar (1844-1911) was posted to Muscat in 1870, becoming Surgeon Major on the 1880s.
