DescriptionOffers report he had published in the Indian Daily News on his arrival at Calcutta in September 1883. Observations include dates between 29 August 1883-26 July 1884, on journeys between Liverpool, Calcutta, an New York, and record floating pumice, of various size and weight, including a 10oz piece he deposited in a Museum. Comments on life forms found covering the observed pumice, including barnacles, snails, crabs, small fish. Describes vivid light green colours accompanying the sun and moon, as well as an incident whereby the ship he was on was damaged by lightning on 1 September 1883.
