Ship log of the Schoon Spinaway observations made in March 1884. Detailed account of the wind directions and speeds. Several diary entries describing a sail about the Scharvogel group of islands, now called the Riau islands, with a detailed account of the weather, including wind speeds and directions, and sea conditions. Includes descriptions of the topology of the sea surrounidng the islands, including coral reefs and shoals.
