DescriptionResponding to advertisement in the Jounral of the Society of Arts directing attention of the Krakatoa Committee to sources of information, including the author's own sketch of the area published in the
Illustrated London News and the Batavia Handelsblad, a preliminary official report by M. Vorbeek, Dutch mining engineer sent by the Dutch Government to investigate the Krakatoa eruption, which subsequently appeared in Ceylon Observer. Author urges the Royal Society to apply to Dutch Ambassador for a copy as it contains detailed report, maps, sketches of devastated districts, tables of atmspheric pressure, tidal observation, and charts of volcanic ash ditribtion.
