Gives the total rates of consumption -- describes the circumstances that led to higher wheat extractions [the prohibition of wheat from the Argentine, decreased exports from India and North America] and subsequent reduction in consumption -- the relaxing of the wheat extraction rules in view of better outlook -- current stocks and rates of importation -- marine and war losses -- distribution -- Allied supplies -- the estimates of the Inter-Allied Scientific Food Commission -- shipping issues, and arrangements with the American Food Administration under Hoover to import whole grains instead of flour -- future outlook and strategy. 19 appended tables on wheat import by country, extraction, consumption.
