TitleLetter from William B Hardy to D Noel Paton
Date21 May 1917
DescriptionNotes that the Privy Councils ceased to exist when Asquith ceased to be Premier -- that the Committee resolutions were not passed, but were incorporated into the minutes together with Rew's reply -- thinks it would be a bad impression 'if we started out on the war path now' and does not see what can be gained, as [Davenport] must save public face to continue in his role, and the Committee's aim is to help the nation not air personal antagonisms. Thinks that the supply of foodstuffs is presently well-managed. Gives the business of next week's meeting.
