TitleReport on the scheme of compulsory rationing
Date26 November 1917
DescriptionReport from the Food Committee on the ration scheme introduced by the Rationing Committee of the Ministry of Food. States that they do not advise the introduction of rationing, but given the proposals they favour the scheme with four classes -- suggests supplementary rations for 'heavy workers' -- notes that the ration would call for increased tonnage -- points out the difficulties in relying on potatoes and swedes -- reminds again of the failure in Germany of attempts to secure equal distribution through a maximum price scheme.
