DescriptionCriticises F G Nicholas' proposal on the use of plantain flour as unreasonable and based on incorrect facts -- points out the low nutritional value of plantain, its limited supply -- thinks sweet potato is more promising and has arranged to experiment with loaves of corn meal and sweet potato -- is sorry that 'Jamaica is unable to to afford any appreciable assistance to the Mother Country in the matter of Bread substitutes except by economies in her own demands.'
