TitleLetter from A Fernbach of the Institut Pasteur, to [Horace T] Brown
Date9 December 1916
DescriptionNotes that his last letter was 'a little hasty' as the process of producing synthetic alcohol is still being investigated -- hopes to have a visit to the Swiss plant in question, though thinks this will be unlikely -- considers the question of alcohol from peat and sawdust. Mentions an upcoming trip to England in which he could arrange to meet Brown -- notes that he has received some unencouraging treatment from officials there, but 'for the good of the Allies, and with your help, I am nevertheless ready to overcome this feeling' -- assumes that Brown has contacted him in the role of a government official.
