TitleLetter from A Chaston Chapman to the Assistant Director of Fish and Poultry Supplies
Date3 May 1916
DescriptionSuggests that the Director has misunderstood his dogfish proposal -- says that wasting valuable tin is not an issue as the fish can be eaten fresh or preserved in other ways besides tinning -- notes that the fish appear often enough at certain points on the coast to make their collection feasible, and that eliminating some dogfish would make supplies of herring and other fish easier to catch -- says his only interest is to secure 'food-stuff and oil...in the national interest.'
