TitleLetter from Robert Harrison, Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society, Burlington House, to A B [Alfred Bray] Kempe
CreatorHarrison; Robert William Frederick (1858-1945); Assistant Secretary of the Royal Society
Date9 February 1901
DescriptionEnclosing a copy of a letter from Sir Clements Markham to Sir Michael Foster [see MS/547/5/9]. Also enclosing a corrected copy of the amended draft instructions for circulation to the Joint Committee. A paragraph in the original draft, stating that the ship was sailing under the Merchant Shipping Act, was not present in the proof given to Mr White [for printing], but Harrison is not clear if this was an intended omission or removed by accident; 'it would be very unfortunate that it should apear that we (The Royal Society) have taken it out without authority'. Also notes that the Joint Committee is not properly recognised in the current documents.
