TitleLetter from Robert Falcon Scott, H.M.S. Bulwark, Devonport, to Sir Archibald Geikie
Date9 January 1909
DescriptionScott takes issue with the fact that Admiral Field has served as arbitrator in the dispute between him and Shaw over the Meteorological Volume from the Discovery Expedition, and thus plans to disregard Field's letter. Scott states that he has 'not refused to consider the possibility' of mistakes being published in the second Meteorological Volume. He wishes to erase the impression that he has wanted to make the controversy public, saying that he wishes to keep it only in a small circle.
