He states that Dr. Shaw has legitimately answered every point raised by Scott. He agrees with Shaw insofar as believes that the standard of meteorological work on the Expedition was not high. Field does regret the fact that members of the Expedition were not consulted when the records were found to be particularly deficient. He mentions that Scott's lack of scientific background may have contributed to his unwillingness to accept criticism. |
