Title | Letter from J T [James Thomson] Bottomley, 13 University Gardens, Glasgow, to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Bottomley; James Thomson (1845-1926); Irish physicist |
Date | 8 March 1909 |
Description | He is obliged for Larmor's letter of 6 March with the information on publishing costs, which will be satisfactory to Lady Kelvin. She will proceed with the matter. He cannot see how Larmor reached the figure of £310, but between £300 and £350 should cover printing. He asks if there is any contract to be signed and if he should write to Mr. Wright at Cambridge University Press to put this in order. He will do his best to get separate copies of the papers to print and edit from. He asks to have the list of papers returned for copying, and that Larmor should mark the papers he would like to begin with. Mrs. Bottomley has written to Larmor to give an account of what they did that day in sending a large part of the letters found at Netherhall. Some of these are interesting and important and may fit with letters that S.P. Thompson can get. Bottomley has received letters of Lord Kelvin to his brother Professor James Thomson at Newcastle-upon-Tyne an they will send those tomorrow. The letters will give Larmor much labour. |
