TitleLetter from Horace T [Tabberer] Brown, Savile Club, 107 Piccadilly, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorBrown; Horace Tabberer (1848-1925); British chemist
Date27 March 1905
DescriptionHe thinks the fault is one of nomenclature. He does not mean 'economic coefficient' as 'thermodynamic efficiency'. He starts with the actual solar radiant energy absorbed by the leaf expressed in absolute units. He thinks it legitimate to express the internal work as a percentage, as if the calories were attributable to burning at the receiving surface. He will look through the paper, again, to remove anything misleading, and he wishes he had asked Larmor to look through the papers. He has heard from F.F. Blackman, who is working on an analogous subject and he will bring those results before the Royal Society in April. Brown will be away on those dates.
